1. Purpose
This Reseller Warranty Policy sets out the terms and conditions under which Sirair warrants its products against manufacturing defects. Its purpose is to establish a clear, transparent and consistent warranty process while protecting the interests of both Sirair and its authorised dealers and resellers.
This warranty applies only to products purchased directly from Sirair by approved dealers and authorised resellers.
2. Definitions
For the purposes of this Warranty Policy:
- Dealer means a Sirair-approved reseller or distributor that has purchased the product directly from Sirair.
- Purchaser means the original dealer or reseller reflected on the Sirair tax invoice.
- Recommended Installer means an installer approved or recognised by Sirair and listed on the recommended installers page available on the Sirair website (www.sirair.co.za).
- Manufacturing Defect means a defect arising solely from defective materials, defective workmanship or incorrect factory assembly.
- Product means the Sirair equipment supplied under the original Sirair tax invoice.
3. Warranty Coverage
This warranty covers manufacturing defects arising solely from:
- defective materials;
- defective workmanship; or
- incorrect factory assembly.
Sirair's obligations under this warranty are strictly limited to the repair or replacement of defective parts, as determined by Sirair following inspection and technical assessment.
This is a parts-only warranty.
Unless otherwise agreed by Sirair in writing, this warranty specifically excludes all costs relating to: labour; installation; commissioning; decommissioning; refrigerant or gas; transport or courier costs; travel expenses; accommodation; maintenance; diagnostics; call-out charges; equipment hire; business interruption; loss of profits; loss of income; downtime; and any indirect, incidental or consequential damages.
The decision to repair, replace or reject any warranty claim rests solely with Sirair following technical evaluation.
The provision of replacement parts or technical assistance shall not constitute an admission that a manufacturing defect exists.
4. Warranty Eligibility
Warranty coverage shall only apply where:
- the product was purchased directly from Sirair;
- installation must be performed by a Sirair Recommended Installer;
- the installation complies with all applicable electrical, refrigeration and plumbing regulations;
- the equipment has been correctly commissioned;
- the prescribed maintenance schedule has been followed;
- satisfactory service records can be produced upon request; and
- no unauthorised repairs, alterations or modifications have been carried out.
Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the warranty claim being declined where such non-compliance contributed to the reported failure.
5. Required Servicing
To maintain warranty validity, products must be serviced at the following minimum intervals:
| Product | Minimum service interval |
|---|---|
| Domestic Midwall Split (Residential) | Every 12 months |
| Domestic Midwall Split (Office / Commercial Use) | Every 6 months |
| Commercial Air Conditioners | Every 6 months |
| Pool Heat Pumps | Every 12 months |
| Geyser Heat Pumps | Every 12 months |
Sirair reserves the right to request maintenance and service records at any stage during the warranty process.
Failure to provide satisfactory maintenance records may result in the warranty claim being declined where inadequate maintenance may reasonably have contributed to the reported fault.
Products installed in harsh or abnormal operating environments, including but not limited to server rooms, mining operations, coastal environments, workshops, factories, basements or cellars, may require more frequent servicing. Dealers should consult Sirair regarding recommended maintenance intervals for such applications.
6. Warranty Claim Procedure
To submit a warranty claim, the dealer must provide:
- the original Sirair tax invoice;
- installer details;
- proof of commissioning where applicable;
- complete service history;
- installation photographs where requested;
- photographs of the reported fault where requested;
- model number;
- serial number;
- detailed fault description; and
- any additional information reasonably requested by Sirair.
Incomplete submissions may delay the assessment process or result in the claim being rejected.
7. Fault Assessment
Sirair reserves the right to inspect, test or assess any product before approving any warranty claim.
No replacement component shall be supplied until the defective component has been inspected by Sirair unless prior written authorisation has been granted.
Sirair's technical assessment shall determine whether the reported failure resulted from a manufacturing defect or from an excluded cause.
Sirair's assessment shall be final unless otherwise required by applicable law.
8. Return of Parts
All parts replaced under warranty remain the property of Sirair and must be returned upon request for inspection and assessment. This includes, but is not limited to:
- compressors;
- indoor PCBs;
- outdoor PCBs;
- fan motors;
- sensors;
- electronic components; and
- expansion devices.
Failure to return requested components within the prescribed period may result in the warranty claim being rejected or the replacement component being invoiced to the dealer.
9. Compressor Assessment
Compressors submitted under warranty shall undergo specialist testing.
Where testing confirms a manufacturing defect, the warranty claim will be honoured.
Where testing confirms failure resulting from:
- incorrect installation;
- contamination;
- incorrect refrigerant practices;
- electrical damage;
- lack of maintenance;
- incorrect commissioning; or
- any excluded cause,
the warranty claim shall be rejected.
Should a dealer request the return of a compressor following assessment, Sirair reserves the right to charge a reasonable handling and administration fee.
10. Authorised Repairs
Warranty repairs may only be performed by:
- a Sirair Recommended Installer; or
- a technician specifically authorised in writing by Sirair.
The installer remains responsible for: diagnosis; fault finding; labour; installation; commissioning; and all repair costs.
Sirair's responsibility is limited solely to approved replacement parts.
11. Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover failures resulting from:

Such failures shall not be regarded as manufacturing defects.
12. Electronic Components
Electronic components, including printed circuit boards (PCBs), are particularly susceptible to unstable electrical supply conditions.
Damage resulting from:
- power surges;
- lightning strikes;
- load shedding;
- voltage fluctuations;
- abnormal or unstable electrical supply;
- inadequate surge protection; or
- inadequate earthing
is specifically excluded from warranty.
Where Sirair confirms, following inspection and testing, that an electronic component has failed solely due to a manufacturing defect, the component will be replaced under the terms of this warranty.
13. Call-Outs
Where a Sirair technician is requested to attend site, a call-out fee shall apply unless otherwise agreed by Sirair in writing.
The dealer or appointed representative must be present during the inspection.
Payment of a call-out fee does not constitute acceptance of liability or approval of a warranty claim.
14. Replacement Parts
Replacement of any component under warranty shall not extend, renew or restart the original warranty period.
Replacement components supplied under warranty may be new, refurbished or remanufactured components that meet Sirair's quality standards.
15. Spare Parts Policy
No returns or refunds shall be accepted for correctly supplied spare parts.
When ordering spare parts, the dealer must provide:
- the original invoice;
- a clear photograph of the required component;
- the model number; and
- the serial number where applicable.
Sirair accepts no responsibility for incorrectly ordered parts where inaccurate or insufficient information has been provided.
16. Non-Transferability
This warranty is non-transferable and applies solely to the original purchaser reflected on the Sirair tax invoice.
17. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable South African law, Sirair's liability under this warranty is limited exclusively to the repair or replacement of defective parts.
Under no circumstances shall Sirair's liability exceed the original purchase price paid by the dealer for the affected product.
Sirair shall not be liable for: indirect damages; consequential damages; economic loss; business interruption; loss of profits; loss of income; accommodation costs; transport costs; labour charges; or any other losses arising directly or indirectly from the use of, or inability to use, the product.
18. Fraudulent or Invalid Claims
Sirair reserves the right to reject any warranty claim where:
- false or misleading information has been provided;
- documentation has been altered;
- serial numbers have been removed, altered or tampered with;
- returned components have been intentionally damaged; or
- the product has been modified without Sirair's prior written approval.
Where a claim is subsequently found to be invalid, Sirair reserves the right to invoice the dealer for any replacement parts supplied.

Except where such legislation provides otherwise, this Warranty Policy constitutes the entire warranty provided by Sirair in respect of the products covered herein.
If any provision of this Warranty Policy is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
