Sirair Warranty Policy.

Terms and Conditions.

This Warranty Policy (“Policy”) outlines the terms and conditions under which Sirair provides warranty coverage for its commercial and residential air-conditioners (“Products”):

  1. Supersedence of Rights: This warranty supersedes all other rights or remedies available to the purchaser under common law or otherwise.
  2. Coverage Requirement: Warranty coverage is contingent upon adherence to a maintenance and service schedule as specified in this policy. Failure to adhere to this schedule renders the warranty null and void.
  3. Coverage Details:
    • This warranty covers factory defects due to incorrect assembly, defective workmanship, or faulty materials.
    • Exclusions include installation, labour, transport, commissioning, maintenance, or any other incidental costs incurred by the consumer or installer.
  4. Authorized Repairs: All repairs covered under warranty must be performed by an authorized Sirair installer or Sirair technician.
  5. Return and Assessment:
    • Warranty claims require the faulty part to be returned to Sirair for assessment.
    • Faulty compressors must be removed and returned to Sirair for evaluation by a specialist. A fee may apply if the customer requests the return of an assessed compressor.
    • Unauthorized installation or alterations will void the warranty.
  6. Non-Transferable: This warranty is exclusively for the original purchaser and is non-transferable from the date of invoice/purchase from Sirair. Repairs during the warranty period do not extend its duration.
  7. Exclusions: Warranty claims for PC boards, remotes, motors, or compressors affected by load shedding cannot be honored by Sirair. Customers may send parts in for testing if desired.
  8. Limitation of Liability: Sirair shall not be liable for damages caused by transportation, floods, wildfires, lightning, accidents, or other events beyond the company’s control.
Warranty Information: The terms of this comprehensive Warranty apply to the following items and their respective warranty periods:
  • Sirair Mid wall Split Non-Inverter Units: 3 years on unit, 5 years on compressor.
  • Sirair Mid wall Split Inverter Units: 3 years on unit, 10 years on compressor.
  • Sirair Commercial Units: 3 years on unit, 5 years on compressor.
  • Air curtain: 1 year on unit.
  • Air cooler: 1 year on unit.
  • Sirair Heat2O Geyser Heat Pump: 2 years.
  • Sirair Inverwatt Pool Heat Pump: 2 years.
  • Starke Fridge Compressors (R134a): 3 months.
  • Vacuum Pumps: 3 months.
Required Servicing for Warranty: The validity of this warranty depends on regular servicing as specified:
  • Domestic Mid wall Split Units (Home): Annual service.
  • Domestic Mid wall Split Units (Office): Biannual service.
  • Commercial Air Conditioners: Biannual service.
  • Pool Heat Pumps: Annual service.
  • Geyser Heat Pumps: Annual service.
     
     
    Warranty Information
    1. Proof of Purchase and Documentation:
      When submitting a warranty claim, you must provide the following documentation:
      • Proof of purchase (your tax invoice)
      • Installer details
      • Proof of service history.
Call-Out Procedure:

Should a call-out be necessary to assess a unit by a Sirair technician, the dealer must be present on-site with the technician and a call-out fee will be charged.

Replacement Parts:

All replaced parts must be sent to our offices for inspection by our in-house technician. If the fault is determined not to be a factory defect, you may be liable for the costs, and an invoice will be issued accordingly.

Spare Parts Policy:

No returns or refunds on any spare parts.

When ordering spare parts, please ensure the following are provided:

  1. Invoice of the product
  2. Photo of the required spare part
  3. Model number

Sirair will not be responsible for incorrectly ordered spare parts if the above information is not provided. Our models date back to 1998, so accurate information is crucial.

 

Sirair Warranty Service Requirements:

  1. Service History: Each unit has its own service history, which is essential for warranty purposes and is non-transferable. Warranty claims require the service history to be provided.
  2. Service and Maintenance Responsibility: The purchaser/owner is responsible for ensuring the unit is serviced and maintained as required.
  3. Qualified Technicians: All servicing must be conducted by qualified Sirair registered installers/technicians.
  4. Proof of Service: Attach each servicing invoice as proof of service.

Required Servicing for Warranty Validity:

  • Domestic Midwall Split Units (Home): Annual service.
  • Domestic Midwall Split Units (Office): Biannual service.
  • Commercial Air Conditioners: Biannual service.
  • Pool Heat Pumps: Annual service.
  • Geyser Heat Pumps: Annual service.
